What is Frax Finance?

Frax Finance runs a liquid staking product for ETH (frxETH) alongside its stablecoin and DeFi products. FXS is the protocol's governance token and can be locked for veFXS.

How to stake FXS

  1. Open an official or well-audited interface for the Frax Finance protocol — start from the link on this page.
  2. Connect a wallet holding the asset you want to stake and deposit the amount you choose.
  3. Receive the protocol's liquid staking receipt token in return — it starts accruing rewards immediately.
  4. Use the receipt token freely (hold, trade, or use in DeFi), or hold it until you want to redeem.
  5. To exit, either sell the receipt token on the open market or redeem it directly through the protocol, subject to its own withdrawal process.

Unbonding & lock-up

The liquid staking receipt (frxETH/sfrxETH) is usable in DeFi immediately; FXS itself can additionally be locked for veFXS to boost rewards and voting power.
